The harp and voice can add an exquisite and unique touch to your wedding, providing an atmospheric and romantic musical experience.
There are a number of options available, depending on your guest numbers, budget and style. You can book for just the ceremony or reception or a combination!
The Ceremony
The harp is the perfect instrument for weddings and provides beautiful, atmospheric and unobtrusive entertainment throughout. Katie has played at weddings in lots of different types of venues, from churches to ruins – almost nothing is out of the question!
Prelude - The arrival of your guests
As your guests arrive, Katie can play for up to 30 minutes to welcome them to the start of your big day.
Processional
Katie can play/sing a special piece of music of your choice as you walk down the aisle.
Signing of the Register
As you seal the deal (!), this can sometimes be the perfect moment for Katie to perform another of your favourite songs for you and your guests.
Recessional
Some celebratory music as the bridal party leave.
Postlude
Music to accompany your guests’ departure.
The drinks reception
Whilst photographs are being taken let your guests enjoy a glass of champagne and some harp music. This provides the perfect opportunity for your guests to be entertained before the wedding breakfast.
The wedding breakfast
The harp is perfect for smaller wedding meals. It can help create an intimate and relaxed environment before the speeches and during the meal.
Katie will tailor your wedding music for you and will try to accommodate any request you may have.
Harpist and piper package
If you are also looking for a piper for your big day, Katie offers a harpist and piper package, with one of the country's top pipers, James Duncan Mackenzie.
James, a piper and flautist from the Isle of Lewis, toured extensively for 12 years playing festivals all around the world with acclaimed folk band, Breabach. He is also a member of Tryst, a ten piece bagpipe composers group. Both of his solo albums, James Duncan Mackenzie (2013) and Sròmos (2019) were well received and he has performed at international festivals including MIMO festival, Brazil and Festival Interceltique de Lorient in Brittany. James can pipe at the entrance of your venue, whilst Katie plays for your guests taking their seats and play during the ceremony. James can also pipe in the new couple to their wedding breakfast.

"Katie provides the perfect ambiance for the gathering of a clan. Katie's harp background music, vocal accompaniment and, particularly, solo voice puirt-a-beul was enjoyed by everyone present. The audience was most appreciative of Katie's sensitive arrangements of traditional Gaelic songs and delighted when Katie responded to requests for favoured memories of the Outer Hebrides. We have no hesitation in recommending Katie's performance for your special occasion." Client, October 2019
"Beautiful harpist for our wedding. Her music was just beautiful. Katie's communication before the event was great. She also recommended pieces of music for the ceremony which was really helpful." Client, December 2019.
